Ah yes, Sasha Grey…a one of a kind 7 thats for sure. Right now in my life nothing is on fire, that is I’m not running around hustling trying to take care of one problem or another. Don’t get me wrong, life is not perfect at all. I hate my job and want to kick it in the balls and I’m wrapping up other things that I’d rather not have to deal with. But besides that every thing is good.
One of my biggest faults among many is that I don’t know how to function well “happy”. I’m more in my element when everything is going wrong in my life and dealing with problems than when it’s going right. I relish in having a crisis, something to overcome. When things are going well I’m usually waiting for the other shoe to drop. I’m trying to look into the future and see where or when the next problem is coming from and try to head it off at the pass.
We all know that life is filled with ups and downs, peaks and valleys. I think one of the cool things about becoming an old is learning to breath in deep and enjoying it when your at the peak. Even if you’re halfway there the air still smells fresher than being at the bottom. The Jack tastes a little sweeter, the girls smile just a little brighter and seem to pick up by the third ring, the lights seem to turn green just as you’re pulling up. Often you don’t even realize things are good until things go REALLY bad. That’s when you look back at that period when nothing was happening and say to yourself… damn, those where the good times.
I could never tell anyone else how to get there. There are many paths and like with most things timing has a lot to do with it. I can say that for me having an extremely tight circle has helped a lot. Having an extremely small group of people who truly have your best interest in mind when giving you advice or having your back on any situation helps making it through the bad times go a lot easier. A true team with no jealousy involved because we know overall success of the group is more important in the long run.
