I don't dress like a gangbanger or any of the stereotype that these stupid white chicks see on TV. Do you know what's ironic? Remember the "Cocaine Dreams" story where my friend Flannery told me that his roommates said they would never fuck around with a black guy? Well, in that story, the girl that I was making out with (whom actually made the first move), guess where she's from. She's from Orange County.
And from reading your email it sounds like you're just bitter, and people pick up on bitterness. Oftentimes, I am a woman's first black guy. Now why is this? Why is it that they have never dated or slept with a black guy their entire life until they met me?
I'll tell you why. It's because I am just a cool ass motherfucker to be around. I fit in with just about anybody, I'm funny, and I don't go walking around with a chip on my shoulder because I'm black. Are people initially afraid of me? Yes. But it is my job, as well as yours, to prove that they don't have to be.
Are there going to be people who don't like black men for whatever reason? Yes. But if you're a really cool guy, then it's not going to matter. Most people don't have a problem with black men, they have a problem with black men who are always complaining about everyone being out to get them (or acting like it).
